Monday marks the 28th anniversary of the disappearance of Mark Himebaugh. Middle Township Police announced that it was on this date when Himebaugh disappeared from Del Haven at the age of 11. If anyone has information related to his disappearance, they are asked to contact Middle Township Police or the FBI.
For the first time in seven years, sewer rates may be going up in Middle Township. The Township Committee met Monday night and introduced an ordinance that would increase rates by about $80 per year. Officials defended the move, saying it is necessary to keep up with increasing costs.
Middle Township will be holding an accelerated tax sale on December 18th. Township officials say all taxes must have been paid in full by November 12th by property owners to avoid being part of the sale. Owners have the opportunity to make themselves current up until the day before the tax sale.
The long reconstruction of the county’s Ingram’s Thorofare Bridge in Middle Township begins Tuesday. Traffic control devices are expected to be set up on the bridge Tuesday as the county replaces the entire bridge surface. The bridge is the high span bridge on Avalon Boulevard outside of Avalon Manor.

The contractor announced that the new light will be operational during the entire offseason as the County makes substantial improvements to the bridge which currently has a deck that is in serious disrepair.
