Middle Township will be holding a public land sale on October 28th. According to a post on the municipal website, the parcels of land will be sold via auction to the highest bidder with minimum bids established for the properties. Minimum bids range from as low as $7600 to as high as $83,400.
Middle Township officials are expected to take the next step towards creating its Law Enforcement Community Engagement Committee during today’s Committee meeting. The Committee is also expected to ask the County to conduct a speed limit survey on Reeds Beach Road. The Committee meets at 6:00pm.
Game Stop announced that it will close up to 450 stores around the country. There is no word yet which stores will close; there is a Game Stop in Rio Grande. A Game Stop located in the Hamilton Mall closed earlier this year.

Middle Township has made it official and has cancelled its annual Harvest Festival event. Public health and financial concerns are the reasons why the festival is being cancelled this year. Mayor Tim Donahue says the community will work on some alternative special plans for the fall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Cape May Court House for 70 year old Rusty Miller of Swainton. Miller served the Cape May County Technical School as its administrator for 27 years. He passed away peacefully at his home on Monday.
The Middle Township Committee will attempt to calm some of the traffic near the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Whitesboro. The Committee meets today and is expected to vote on several measures, including the establishment of a four-way stop. Solar powered digital speed monitors may also be added. Overnight bridge closures have begun this week on the county’s 96th Street Bridge that connects Stone Harbor to Middle Township. The overnight closures last during the week this week and possibly go into next week. Traffic is being detoured through Avalon, and the bridge opens each morning at 6:00am.
Back to school began Tuesday in Cape May County with students returning to the classroom, and firing up their laptops for remote learning.
