Middle Township Police announced a motor vehicle accident closed down a section of Route 47 early Sunday evening. The section of the highway between Indian Trail Road and Bayshore Road is closed due to the accident; motorists are being advised Sunday evening to take an alternate route.
Middle Township officials announced that the westbound portion of Goshen Swainton Road will be resurfaced next Tuesday. The limits of the paving will be between Route 9 and Court House-South Dennis Road. The roadwork begins Tuesday at 7:00am.
41 year old Daniel Sincavage of Rio Grande was killed in a traffic accident on Route 47 in Maurice River Township Thursday night. NJ.com reports that his vehicle crossed the center line of the highway and crashed into trees. A 40 year old passenger suffered minor injuries.
Middle Township Police are searching for 17 year old Paige Thompson who was reported missing by her family. Thompson was last seen during the evening hours on Tuesday. She may be in the company of an unknown male.
The Middle Township Committee meets Monday and is expected to consider redevelopment plans for Rio Grande and for Indian Trail Road. The Committee will also repeal and replace all affordable housing ordinances in the community during the meeting.
Taxes are going up in Middle Township this year. The Township Committee approved a new budget this week that increases the local purpose tax by more than two and a half cents. Rising salaries and wages and other inflationary expenses are largely to blame for the tax increase this year.

21 year old David He of Middle Township has been hit with child pornography offenses. The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced that several child pornography images were found on electronic devices in his home. He could face five to ten years in prison, if convicted.
