A 55 year old woman from North Cape May was arrested Wednesday night and charged with a drunk driving offense after her pickup truck struck a bicyclist. Police say Sun O. Payne was charged after officers found her pickup a short distance from the accident scene; the accident occurred at Bayshore and Fulling Mill roads.
A major new addition has arrived at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum. A Grunnman F6F Hellcat arrived from Pensacola, Florida on Monday, April 29th. The Lower Township Police Department promoted one member to the rank of Sergeant Monday evening. Ryan Hansberry received the promotion in the Department, for which he has been a member since 2002. Friday was not a good day for the Cape May Lewes Ferry system. The MV New Jersey experienced engine trouble on the bay and passengers were briefly stranded on the vessel. There was a two hour delay getting back to port. A Northstar Marine tugboat assisted the ferry boat back to port.
