The Lower Township Council will introduce its municipal budget during Monday night’s meeting. The adoption of the new spending plan is expected in the middle of March. Council may also approve a resolution that would ask the county to lower the speed limit on Town Bank Road.
Lower Township Police will hold its monthly Cop Stop this Saturday at Dunkin Donuts in North Cape May. Officer Mike Nuscis will be there for three hours starting at 10am to answer questions regarding public safety practices in the Township, and to get feedback from residents.

Lower Township Police say a 25 year old man lost his life on January 12th in a motor vehicle accident. Patrick Wood of the Villas lost control of his car on Breakwater Road and struck a tree. Wood later died of his injuries.
The new week will bring new construction to North Cape May. Lower Township Police say there will be major work done on Roseann Avenue from Clearwater Drive including excavation and dewatering. The Clearwater Drive/Roseann Avenue intersection will remain substantially closed for the week. It’s all part of a massive flood relief project.
Lower Township Police have identified the woman who died during a house fire in the Villas as Melody Murphy. Murphy’s home went up in smoke and flames on Florida Avenue Friday morning. Murphy died of carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of the fire, which is still under investigation.
