Lower Cape May Regional High School is the mock trial champions of New Jersey. Lower Cape May came out on top of a field that included participation from 196 schools statewide. The team included Nikolas Frey, Holly Karavanas, Liv Longshore, Elise Heim, John Payne, and Anna Davids, according to a release.

Taxes will be going up in Lower Township. The Cape May County Herald reports that the Township Council introduced a new budget this week that includes a 1.99 cent increase in the local tax rate. Revenues in Lower Township dropped off last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Lower Township Council will introduce its 2021 budget Monday evening. Council is also expected to vote on a resolution that will provide an agreement with new Police Chief William Priole. The meeting begins at 7:00pm.
Lower Township Police announced that the Middle Thorofare Bridge will be closed for 12 hours to repair a sinkhole. The bridge will be closed Thursday starting at 6:00pm. Other work continues on the bridge in advance of the overnight closure.
