Legal recreational cannabis sales will start soon, and there will be a pot store in Egg Harbor Township. Egg Harbor Township Police say a 37 year old man lost his life in a motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning. Police say Jose Costa lost control of his vehicle on Ocean Heights Avenue and struck a pole. Costa was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 26 year old woman from Galloway has been charged by police in Egg Harbor Township for allegedly violently handling children at a daycare facility. 27 year old Jamal Preston of Egg Harbor Township has admitted to setting a house fire in Ocean County while three people were inside the residence. The fire took place during the summer of 2020 in Lakewood. Preston used a liquid and an open flame to start the fire.
An Egg Harbor City man has been formally charged this week in connection with an accident that killed another man in Port Republic last year. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Steven Hanlon has been charged with vehicular homicide. A 63 year old man who was on a motorcycle was killed in the accident.
A ten year old boy was seriously injured during a motor vehicle accident in Egg Harbor Township Tuesday. Police issued a statement saying a pickup truck being driven by a 27 year old man struck the boy on Spruce Avenue. The accident is under investigation.
