State Police are searching for a man who attacked a woman who was jogging in Parvin State Park on Monday. Police say the woman was able to fight off her attacker late Monday afternoon while she was running along the “green trail” in the Park. The woman was not seriously injured. ##
A section of the Inspira Medical Center in Vineland will get a name change tomorrow following a donation of $1 million. A ceremony will be held Thursday to announce the name of the local physician who made the generous donation to the heath care facility that is located just off Route 55. ##
The fatal shooting of Richard Bard Jr. in Vineland last year by city police was completely justified. That’s the finding of a new report issued by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday. The report says Bard fired at police first, with the bullet just missing the head of an officer. ##
Cape May County republicans are supporting Downe Township Mayor Robert Campbell as a candidate for State Assembly. The Cape GOP’s social media page is encouraging republican voters to support Campbell who’s name appears in column six. The GOP dumped support for Brian McDowell soon after the legislative ticket was announced. ##
A 32 year old inmate who was under a suicide watch at the Cumberland County Jail managed to hang himself Sunday. Jail officials say 32 year old David Conroy died one day after he was found hanging in his cell. Conroy’s suicide is the sixth in less than three years at the jail. ##
A 22 year old man was killed after being struck by two motor vehicles on Route 55 early Friday morning. New Jersey State Police say Laron Washington Jr. of Sewell walked into the roadway in Maurice River Township shortly after 1:00am. He was pronounced dead at the scene. ##
An emergency alert sent across televisions in Cumberland and Salem counties last night about a major problem at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant was a mistake. The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management announced that the warning was an error, and quickly acted to correct its mistake last night. ##
It’s not often a lamb winds up with rabies, but it’s happened in Cumberland County. County health officials have no idea how the lamb came down with rabies, but the department is asking anyone who came in contact with lambs in the County to contact the department. ##
A 61 year old woman was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Cedarville, Cumberland County Wednesday night. Authorities say Lillian Hernandez of Lawrence Township lost her life when she lost control of her vehicle while trying to negotiate a curve. ##
New Jersey State Police are establishing a sobriety checkpoint in Cumberland County today. The checkpoint will be set up along Route 56 in Deerfield Township. Troopers will be stopping cars to check for impaired drivers. ##
