New Jersey State Police are seeking the man who robbed a branch of Fulton Bank Monday in Upper Deerfield Township. Police say the man walked into the branch, handed the teller a note, and drove away in a red pickup truck. So far, the suspect is not in custody.
Vineland Police are investigating a shooting incident Monday afternoon on the property of the Cumberland Mall. Police say a man was shot in the leg near the Boscov’s Department Store. The victim told police he arrived at the Mall to purchase narcotics from another individual.
The Cumberland County SPCA Animal Shelter will stay open. The organization is working with governments in Cumberland and Salem counties on a financial arrangement to avoid closing at the end of the year. The shelter announced it would close at the end of the month because it ran out of money.
The state’s Superstorm Sandy Blue Acres Buyout Program reached a milestone with its 500th home demolished. State officials say the home was located on the Delaware Bay in Cumberland County. Two people are dead following a traffic accident on Route 47 in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County. Police are expected to release more details about the head on collision on the highway Sunday night. A man and a woman were reportedly killed; no further information is available.
Cape May Foods will expand its operations in Millville to add another 20,000 square feet of space and as many as 30 jobs. The Daily Journal reports that Cape May Foods has operated the property on Gorton Road for the past 17 years in the Millville Industrial Park.
A 35 year old Vineland man admitted in court that he robbed a bank in our region over the past year. Quinton L. Jones of Vineland robbed a branch of the former Cape Bank in Upper Deerfield Township in 2016, and also committed another armed robbery. He could face 20 years behind bars.

The Cumberland County SPCA animal shelter is in dire financial straits and may close at the end of the year.
