This Wednesday through Friday, northbound traffic will be detoured along Route 9 in Lower Township for milling and paving work. The northbound lane of Route 9 will be closed from 7am until 5pm from Breakwater Road to Route 47. Southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.
Cape May County Freeholders formally adopted a new budget during its meeting this week. The new spending plan totals $152.6 million and represents a slight increase over last year’s spending plan. The County tax rate is expected to go up slightly over a half penny.

Atlantic City Electric reports all power has been restored following the recent nor’easter called “Quinn”. The utility announced Monday that it dealt with more than 42,000 outages largely caused by strong winds that blew trees into power lines. Most customers were restored within 24 hours of their outage.
