Cape May County government will be showing off its new third floor of the County Courthouse located on Main Street in Middle Township Friday. The names of 52 boy scout troop leaders from New Jersey who sexually abused boys was released Tuesday by a law firm. The firm announced the names of the men; none of them are from Cape May County. Four are from Atlantic County, with two from Egg Harbor Township.

Thousands of beaches were cleaned up around the Garden State on Saturday as part of Clean Ocean Action’s beach sweeps. Sweeps were held in many local shore communities as volunteers picked up everything from non recyclable plastics to tires.

The event is held to remove some of the human-created litter on the beaches in advance of the summer season.
The cost of tuition is going up at Atlantic Cape Community College. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Board of Trustees at the college approved a $14 per credit tuition increase earlier this month. College officials say they are refining their offerings.
Republican freeholders may have a fight in this year’s election. The Press of Atlantic City reports that former Middle Township Committeeman Steve Barry and attorney Elizabeth Casey will seek the freeholder seats currently occupied by Gerry Thornton and Marie Hayes. Petitions were due by April 1st.
