There could be a split on the freeholder board after it barely approved the reappointment of administrator Elizabeth Bozelli. The Board voted 3-2 on the appointment, with freeholders Will Morey and Marie Hayes dissenting. Morey wanted the appointment to be postponed so other options could be explored.
The County of Cape May and Atlantic Cape Community College are teaming up on a project that will result in new public messaging opportunities for the County. Videos will be produced for the County by students that can be used on a variety of platforms, including in public buildings. Filming begins next month.

Cape May County will unveil its new central dispatch center during a media event on Tuesday. The new center is housed at the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management, and also includes Lower Township Police and the Township’s rescue squad. Millions of dollars were saved by renovating an existing building.

Two freeholder meetings are having changes in time or date. The meeting to be held on October 23rd will start one hour earlier, at 3:30pm; the meeting advertised to be held on November 13th will be held on November 8th instead. The meetings will be held at the County’s administration building.
The County will be holding an event on Sunday to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Crest Haven Nursing Home. County officials will be at the facility on Sunday that will include tours of the facility and a few guest speakers.
It’s debate night at Stockton University. Democrat Jeff Van Drew and republican Seth Grossman will be debating in a congressional debate this evening at the university. Most pre-election polls give Van Drew a double-digit lead over Grossman in the race.

Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has sued the United States Department of Interior over the State’s unanswered request on why Florida was carved out of an offshore drilling plan, but New Jersey was left in.
