Somers Point resident Brian Fitzherbert will run for the republican nomination to challenge Congressman Jeff Van Drew in next year’s election. Fitzherbert issued a press release this week saying that he is a businessman, engineer and worked for two Fortune 500 companies.
25 officials from the People’s Republic of China visited Cape May County during the July 4th holiday weekend. The visit was part of a mission to the United States to learn and exchange ideas on tourism marketing and promotion. The visit was hosted by the Cape May County Department of Tourism.

Cape May County is reminding locals about a produce voucher program where income-eligible seniors can use vouchers for produce available at participating farmers’ markets. Individuals must be at least 60 years of age and meet income requirements. The program gets underway next Monday.
