Your eyes have not deceived you..you are paying more for gasoline in Cape May County over the past week. The price for a gallon of gas locally went up by six cents a gallon in the last week to an average of $2.56 per gallon. We are a penny above the state average.
Cape May County Sheriff Bob Nolan and the County have officially sued the New Jersey Attorney General over the Immigration Trust Directive. The County contends that it wants the agreement to continue that allows local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with ICE officials.
Guilty verdicts were handed down to Christopher Small and Christopher Verity regarding the drug inducted death of Kevin MacFarlane. MacFarlane died last October as a result of a drug overdose when then led to the arrest of Small and Verity. Both could face between ten to 20 years behind bars.

Cape May County will attempt to pursue an emergency declaration due to beach damage caused by this weekend’s storm. County OEM Director Marty Pagliughi is getting damage estimates that may trigger an emergency declaration by the State of New Jersey. West Nile Virus has been found in Cape May County, and the County’s health department has issued an advisory. West Nile has been found in Tuckahoe, Woodbine, Green Creek, and the Villas. The department says residents should exercise caution when outside in areas where mosquitos are found.
