There is one additional death to report in Cape May County from coronavirus. A 64 year old male from Woodbine died as a result of the virus. There were four new resident cases, two of them each in Upper and Middle townships. There are 96 resident cases in the Cape.
There were only six new overall cases of coronavirus reported in Cape May County Sunday, three of them being non-resident cases. Cape May County now has 108 resident cases of the virus, with most of them being in mainland communities. Avalon, Stone Harbor, West Cape May, and West Wildwood continue to have zero resident cases.
The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce announced that it’s widely popular Business at the Beach Expo will be held virtually later this month. The Chamber announced that the Expo will be held on September 23rd and will allow businesses to establish virtual tables to show their products and services.
It was 19 years ago today that a terrorist attack on the United States took nearly 3,000 lives. Some local communities are holding solemn remembrances today to honor the victims and the heroes on September 11, 2001. Local police departments and first responders assisted in the recovery following the attacks on New York City.
Cape May County will be offering drive-through flu shots by appointment only this year. The County announced it will be offering clinics twice in October, and family flu clinics will be provided on three separate occasions. Consent forms and masks will be required.
Cape May County has 105 coronavirus cases, and most of them are on mainland communities. 67 of the county’s active cases are in Lower, Middle, Upper, and Dennis townships, and Woodbine. Six new resident cases were reported on Tuesday with the only new case in Middle Township.
