The Cape May County Department of Health announced additional opportunities to get tested for coronavirus. County officials announced Tuesday that there will be an expansion of testing throughout the County. Testing will be conducted via appointment. There are 30 new cases of coronavirus for Cape May County. County officials announced Monday that 28 of the 30 cases were in the community, while only two were long term care cases. Communities with five new cases apiece include Lower and Upper townships, along with North Wildwood and Ocean City.

The numbers are trending in the right direction for incumbent Congressman Jeff Van Drew. Van Drew holds a 9,500 vote lead over democrat Amy Kennedy in our local congressional race. However, there are still some votes still left to be counted. Van Drew has nearly 51 percent of the popular vote.
Republicans hold two seats on the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Will Morey and Jeffrey Pierson easily defeated two democratic candidates, and an independent on election night. Both republicans had a nearly 10,000 vote lead without a portion of mail in ballots received on election day counted.
One thing is certain tonight: Two countywide positions will be retained by republicans simply because no democrats opposed them.
