WILDWOOD CREST TO DISCUSS CAPITAL PLAN

A special meeting has been called in Wildwood Crest this week. Borough Commission will meet on Wednesday and discuss two items. Discussion items will including a capital plan and a business associate agreement with Cape Professional Billing. The meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m on Wednesday at the municipal court room.

HEROIN OVERDOSE LEADS TO CHARGE IN WILDWOOD

Wildwood Police have announced charges in a fatal drug overdose. Police say that a 59-year-old passed away from a heroin overdose over the weekend and Robert Lunzy was charged in the death. Lunzy was charged with Strict Liability for Drug-Induced Death, which could lead to 20 years in jail. Bail was set at $400,000.

THREE ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY IN LOWER TOWNSHIP

A search warrant netted three arrests on Saturday. The search was conducted on Norwood Road in the North Cape May section of the township. Christopher McCullough, Ernest Irons, and Louis McCullough were all arrested from the search. McCollough was also charged with possession of a defaced firearm.

BREAKING NEWS: ACCC CLOSED DUE TO BOMB THREAT

Atlantic Cape Community College has closed all campuses on Friday, September 12th due to a bomb threat.  Authorities are not discussing the nature of the threat, nor which campus was targeted.  All campuses associated with the college have been closed as a precaution.  The announcement was made Friday afternoon on the college’s website.

SOLD: GAZETTE LEADER, CURRENT NEWSPAPERS SOLD

The Gazette Leader and the Current newspapers have been sold.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that BH Media Group, the parent company of the Press of Atlantic City, has purchased the remaining 50 percent of the newspaper chain from Rick Travers and other family members.  The deal is expected to close sometime this month. …

UPDATE: ACCIDENTAL DROWNING RULED IN DEATH OF OCEAN CITY RESIDENT

Officials have ruled that an accidental drowning was the cause of death for 25 year-old Brett Fitzpatrick, of Ocean City.
