The small community of Estell Manor has a new mayor. Joseph Venezia took his oath of office Wednesday from State Senator Jeff Van Drew at the government reorganization meeting. Venezia finished exactly even with another candidate in the November election; a second election was held in February, and Venezia was the winner.

A man was killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Hammonton on Wednesday. Authorities say the man trespassed the train tracks and was killed early Wednesday evening. No one aboard the train was injured; service was suspended on the rail line last evening.

A Hammonton man has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with an accident in Gloucester County last year. Authorities announced that 27 year old Elliott Festa Jr. was driving at a speed in excess of 100 mph when his vehicle collided with another, resulting in two deaths.
