A suspect is in custody after a reported shooting closed down some schools in Atlantic County, including Stockton University. An official at the Pilgrim Academy in Atlantic County heard gunfire, contacted authorities, and put some schools into lockdown. The lockdowns from Thursday morning have since been lifted.
Hunters have located a body just off the White Horse Pike in Mullica Township. Police say the death of the individual does not appear to be suspicious in nature. Police announced that the body was located one week ago.

A 67 year old man was killed during a head on crash in Hammonton Sunday morning. Police say the accident occurred on Route 206 in the city. Joseph Bellace, Sr. was killed when his car was struck head on by a car driven by a 25 year old driver. The crash remains under investigation.
A Hammonton firefighter was taken to a hospital in critical condition Wednesday night after suffering a medical episode while fighting a fire. Officials say the fireman is now listed in stable condition at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway Township.
