Coronavirus testing has begun behind the Hamilton Mall in Atlantic County. Cars started to line up at the drive through testing site this morning, the first site to be established in that county. Cape May County will operate a drive through testing site next Wednesday.
Three additional deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Atlantic County on Tuesday alone. County officials say two men from Egg Harbor Township and an Atlantic City man were the victims. Atlantic County has experienced 156 cases of coronavirus.

Some cuts are being made at Atlanticare as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Officials say some executives are taking substantial pay cuts, while other employees are being asked to cut their hours or accept some furlough days. Atlanticare operates multiple urgent care centers in Cape May County.
A coronavirus testing site may be located behind the Hamilton Mall. A spokesperson for Atlantic County says there are discussions about having the site located behind the mall because there is plenty of parking, and no impact on local traffic. Linda Gilmore tells NJ.com that the site has not been finalized.
Shore Medical Center in Somers Point is asking employees to take voluntary layoffs. NJ.com reports that a letter was sent to employees in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The medical center notes the “dramatic decrease in revenues”.
There are now 14 coronavirus cases confirmed in Atlantic County. Health officials Friday morning confirmed three additional cases; two are in their 20s and recovering at home, while the third is in his late 50s, and recovering at a hospital.
There’s one less retail store operating during the coronavirus crisis. Kohl’s announced Thursday night it has shut down all of its stores, but will continue to pay employees during the crisis. The stores will remain closed for two weeks.
