In order for employees at Stockton University to work, they must be vaccinated against coronavirus. The University announced the new requirement on Thursday. Managers and temporary employees are among those who must be vaccinated.
Reports say that Damon Tyner has resigned as Prosecutor for Atlantic County. The Press of Atlantic City reports that a radio report suggested that Tyner has submitted his letter of resignation and cites family reasons. The resignation was reportedly effective today at 9:00am.
Spirit Airlines today announced new air service between Atlantic City and Miami, Cancun, or San Juan. The airline announced these flights will all be non-stop with no layover. All of these new flights will begin at various times in October.

There is an emergency road closure in southern Atlantic County Friday as a result of downed poles caused by Tropical Storm Elsa. Officials say Somers Point-Longport Boulevard was closed Friday morning between Bay Avenue in Somers Point to Ocean Drive in Longport until the roadway is safe again.
A 23 year old man lost his life over the weekend in Atlantic County, the victim of a drowning. Authorities say the man drowned in Weymouth Furnace, a river in Mays Landing. Swimming has always been prohibited in that area.

One man was killed and five others injured during an accident involving a pontoon boat in the Barnegat Bay early Sunday morning. State Police say the boat ran into a marker near the Route 37 bridge. The 18 year old man who died was airlifted away from the scene to the Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Vince Polistina won the republican primary for State Senate in Atlantic County over challenger Seth Grossman. Polistina will square off against democrat Vince Mazzeo in the fall. Meanwhile, democrat Marty Small won the democratic primary for Mayor in Atlantic City. Small crushed Tom Foley in the primary.
