The United States Coast Guard rescued four adults and two children off a boat that ran aground Thursday night just south of Great Island in Atlantic City. The Guard reports that the individuals in the water were wearing life jackets and all were safely rescued. The call first came in from the Ventnor Police Department.

NJ Advance Media has learned that the Borgata also intends to offer sports betting Thursday morning, pending state approval. Atlantic City officials plan to introduce a budget Wednesday that includes no increase in the local purpose tax rate. City officials announced on Tuesday that for the first time in years, the city won’t be hitting residents with a tax increase. The new budget is expected to total $225 million.
