The United States Coast Guard has suspended the search for a man who entered the surf Monday night near the Ocean Resort Casino. Authorities say the man was spotted by a witness entering the ocean Monday at 9:30pm, and he has not been found. The Coast Guard reports it could not find the swimmer.

Atlantic City’s two new casinos opened a day early. Legal bets were accepted Wednesday afternoon at both the Ocean Resort Casino and the Hard Rock Casino, one day before they were officially scheduled to open. Both casinos will be holding ribbon cutting ceremonies and events Thursday to officially unlock their doors.
They will be smashing a guitar Thursday at 11am in Atlantic City. The Hard Rock Casino will formally open with glitz and glamour, along with a few busted guitars to celebrate. A ceremony will be held in the Etess Arena.
A suspect in a hit and run stabbed an Atlantic City cop before he was shot and killed by the officer. Police in the city say 32 year old Timothy Deal approached the officer, stabbed him, and then was shot dead. The officer was treated and released for the stabbing.
Two Cumberland County men have been convicted on charges that they conducted attempted murder against Atlantic City Police Officer Josh Vadell. Vadell was shot in the head during a criminal incident in September, 2016. Vadell said after the verdict was read that he is satisfied. Sentencing will be held for both convicts in September.
