Atlantic City Police arrested 25 year old Thomas Bryant Thursday after he tried to burglarize a car in a casino parking garage. Bryant was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that resulted in Bryant shooting himself. Bryant has been charged with aggravated assault and other offenses.
A petition filed to change the form of government in Atlantic City failed to provide enough valid signatures and has been rejected. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the petition contained only 699 valid signatures, which is about 136 short.

Criminal sentencing for former Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam will be held at the end of next month. Gilliam’s sentencing date was rescheduled for February 27th. He admitted that he cheated a basketball program out of $87,000 in funding. Gilliam has since resigned from office.
Atlantic City Police arrested two people over the weekend for drugs and gun violations. Police on Friday stopped a car on Atlantic Avenue and arrested the driver, Ameer Hamilton, and his passenger, Jacqueline Jones. Police found pot and a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.
Atlantic City will be getting beach concerts courtesy of Live Nation. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has reached an agreement with the concert promoter to bring concerts back to the beach, including a big three day event next summer. The concerts will largely occur during times when casinos have vacant rooms.

A 64 year old woman stabbed her husband, and then herself, Thursday at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City. Police say Majocyline Tan is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after she stabbed her 72 year old husband. The incident occurred shortly before 10am.
The form of government in Atlantic City may change. A citizens group has generated enough signatures on a ballot to require the City Clerk to conduct a review. If enough signatures are on the ballot, an election will be held to ask voters if they want the change.
