Atlantic City Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motor vehicle Wednesday night on Route 40. Police say two off duty officers came across the crash and immediately rendered assistance to the victim. The 23 year old driver who struck the pedestrian remained on the scene of the accident.
Avalon will be conducting a sand back passing project this spring. Business Administrator Scott Wahl reports that 64,000 cubic yards of sand will be placed on north end beaches in the community that were ravaged this winter by significant storm events. The project is expected to get underway in a couple of weeks.

New Jersey State Senator Mike Testa is ripping into Governor Murphy and state officials over the legalization of marijuana. Testa calls the legalization of pot “reckless and short sighted”. He also says federal law precludes a user of marijuana from owning a gun, something that was not likely considered by the State.
The first customers have already purchased their legal marijuana in the Garden State. People lined up overnight at legal pot stores to buy their stash for the upcoming weekend. Locations throughout the State were allowed, as of this morning, to sell recreational marijuana.
