The county’s road resurfacing project continues Wednesday with work along Dennisville-Petersburg Road. County officials say some resurfacing will take place at the railroad crossing near the Dennis Township Municipal Building. Work in that area will take four to five days.
Sea Isle City approved a new municipal budget with no increase in the local tax rate. Mayor Len Desiderio says Sea Isle and other towns are having issues attracting seasonal hires at competitive wages. The city employs over 300 people during the height of summer.
Some additional work will be done on the Middle Thorofare Bridge in Lower Township, starting Wednesday. Township Police are advising motorists that traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge during daytime hours the rest of this week, and early next week, weather permitting. Former Cape May councilman Christopher Bezaire has received a 45 day jail term. Bezaire told NJ.com that he received the jail term for stalking a girlfriend, and for contempt of court. Bezaire has since stepped down from his Council seat.
