SPORTS: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES RELEASE LINEMAN FLETCHER COX

One of the best players on the Philadelphia Eagles has been released.  Longtime defensive lineman Fletcher Cox was released by the team on Thursday to help get the Eagles under the salary cap.  The Eagles may try to renegotiate a new contract with Cox at a lower price to keep him around.

STATE SENATOR PROPOSES ROLLBACK OF GASOLINE TAX, FOR NOW

A New Jersey state senator is proposing the suspension of the state’s gasoline tax for two months as prices skyrocket at the pumps.  Democrat Shirley Turner says this would provide relief to drivers.  The average price for a gallon of fuel in New Jersey is just under $4.30 per gallon.

CAPE MAY MAN CHARGED WITH RECEIVING STOLEN VEHICLE IN WILDWOOD CREST

Wildwood Crest Police have charged a 35 year old man from Cape May with receiving stolen property.  Crest Police have charged John Papale after he was caught with a vehicle stolen out of Middle Township valued at $50,000.  The charge was made following a motor vehicle stop last Friday evening.

REPORT: ATLANTIC COUNTY GOP CHAIRMAN QUITS AFTER 16 YEARS

Atlantic County Republican Party chairman Keith Davis is stepping down after a 16 year run.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Davis has resigned to take a trustees’ position with a Super PAC designed to bring money to South Jersey republican candidates.  Davis is an attorney from Linwood.

GOP SELECTS BULAKOWSKI TO RUN FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER
