Here we snow again. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Cape May County for Thursday night into Friday morning. There will be one to four inches of fresh, new snowfall for your morning commute. Snow will spread all over the southern New Jersey area.
A man has died after being shot by police in Millville. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced that the shooting took place outside of a home on Burns Road. The victim was airlifted to Cooper Hospital where he died less than two hours later. No further details about the police shooting are being released.
New Jersey reported over 31,000 cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, along with 58 new deaths. There are over 5,400 people hospitalized in New Jersey with virus, which is stressing many medical care facilities. These are the most hospitalizations since May, 2020.
Kevin Lewis is the new police chief of Lower Township. Lewis was sworn into his new position this week following the retirement of former chief Bill Priole. The Cape May County Zoo continues to be closed on Wednesday due to icy conditions in the facility. All branches of the County library system, including the main branch, are open today. Fare free transportation has resumed its normal operating schedule.
Wildwood Crest has returned Don Cabrera to the position of Mayor. The Crest Commission reorganized on Tuesday and unanimously appointed Cabrera as the Mayor. Joe Franco and Joe Schiff have joined the Borough Commission.
