Governor Murphy announced today that the State will be spending $700 million in federal funding on child care services. Murphy says the money will help parents pay for the cost of child care, and to provide bonuses for child care workers. The money is coming from the American Rescue Plan.

Lower Township Police announced that portions of Town Bank Road and Shunpike Road will be closed for four hours Sunday morning. There will be a “Run the Vineyards 5K Run” Sunday, and the roads will be closed starting at 8:00am. There will be some traffic delays in the area.
Five New York State residents have been charged with using false bank checks in order to obtain gaming chips at Atlantic City casinos. State officials announced today that a grand jury handed up second degree conspiracy charges against the five individuals. Five casinos were impacted by the scam.

Wildwood Crest officials announced that County work on a portion of Pacific Avenue south of Rambler Road will begin before the end of the year. Work will continue through the middle of May before a seasonal break; the entire project could be completed in May, 2023. Work will be done south to St. Louis Avenue.
The founder of the local Coalition Against Rape and Abuse, Juanita Battle of West Cape May, has passed away at the age of 76. Battle passed away on October 7th. Funeral services will be held next Wednesday at the Christ Gospel Church in Whitesboro.
