New Jersey reported 925 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, along with 33 new deaths. More than 3.5 million New Jersey adults are completely vaccinated. Governor Murphy continues to encourage all residents to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Wildwood Crest now has a smoke-free beach. Borough officials announced that smoking has been prohibited from the beaches as the town attempts to prohibit smoking cannabis on public property. Previous designated areas for smoking have been eliminated.
It looks like the Philadelphia Eagles will open their season on the road in Atlanta. There are many schedule leaks being reported today in advance of the official release of the NFL schedule by the league tonight at 8 o’clock. Many sources say the first game of the season will be Dallas at Tampa Bay.
Avalon voters elected three individuals to Borough Council Tuesday night. Incumbent John McCorristin was returned to Council, along with two newcomers, Mari Coskey and Jamie McDermott. Emergency electrical repairs are needed on the County’s 96th Street Bridge outside of Stone Harbor. The repairs will be made Thursday night, which means the bridge will be closed to traffic from 8:00pm until 6:00am Friday. The work is designed to reduce wear on the motor components of the bridge.
