Cape May County officials announced that 46.6 percent of the County’s population has been vaccinated against Covid-19, the highest percentage in the entire state. Over three quarters of all residents over the age of 65 are vaccinated. The County reported only 15 new cases on Wednesday.
Over half of the state’s residents support the job performance of Governor Murphy. A new Monmouth University poll gives Murphy a 57 percent job approval rating, while 35 percent disapprove. One year ago, Murphy enjoyed a 71 percent approval rating as the coronavirus restrictions kicked in.

The rate of transmission for coronavirus in New Jersey has dropped very low, to a mark of 0.34. This is clear evidence that the reproduction of the virus has been greatly slowed in the Garden State. There were just over 1,000 new cases of the virus reported in the state in the past 24 hours.

There are major improvements being done to the basketball courts at the Scoop Taylor Park in Wildwood Crest. There were three promotions this week in the North Wildwood Police Department. City officials announced that William Estell was elevated to the rank of Captain; Justin Robinson and Adam McGraw are now Lieutenants; and James Flynn has been promoted to Sergeant.
Three teenagers were shot in Atlantic City over the weekend in two separate shooting incidents. Atlantic City Police say all three victims are from Atlantic City, and all were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate and have no suspects in custody.
Atlantic City Police have arrested a 22 year old man for committing a robbery at the Super Mini Mart convenience store on Atlantic Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Police have charged Jermaine Whitehurst with robbery and other offenses. Whitehurst allegedly robbed the store at knife point.
