STONE HARBOR TO ADOPT NEW MUNICIPAL BUDGET TUESDAY

Stone Harbor will adopt its new municipal budget Tuesday afternoon.  Council had introduced a budget that included a significant increase in taxes, but trimmed the budget and will attempt to pass it a second time.  Council is also expected to approve various special events for the summer season.

MURPHY SET TO MAKE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy promises a major announcement regarding coronavirus restrictions on Monday.  The State reported just over 1,000 new cases of the virus on Sunday, along with 19 new deaths.  The rate of transmission of the virus has been greatly slowed, meaning Murphy now has the statistics he needs to open things up.

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP TO INTRODUCE BUDGET, PROHIBIT POT IN PUBLIC AREAS

The Middle Township Committee meets Monday and is expected to introduce its municipal budget by title only.  The Committee will also establish an ordinance that prohibits the smoking of marijuana in public areas.  The meeting begins at 6:00pm.

OCEAN CITY HIRES LABOR ATTORNEY FOR INVESTIGATION INTO BEACH PATROL

Ocean City has hired a special attorney to investigate allegations of wrong doing in its beach patrol.  Mayor Jay Gillian announced that the labor attorney will look into allegations of various employment law violations by current and prior members of the patrol.  Attorney Vanessa James will conduct the investigation.

MILLVILLE GETS LARGE STATE GRANT FOR MILLYARD RIVERFRONT WALK

The City of Millville is getting a $900,000 state grant for its Millyard Riverfront Walk.  NJDOT officials announced the grant will help with pedestrian and bicycle access to pathways, bridges and previous rail lines along the Maurice River and Union Lake spillway.

MAN BURNED IN SEVERE BOAT FIRE AT OTTEN’S HARBOR IN WILDWOOD
