THREE ADDITIONAL DEATHS LOCALLY FROM CORONAVIRUS

There were three additional deaths from coronavirus in Cape May County reported by County health officials.  The individuals were all over the age of 65 are from Sea Isle City, Ocean City, and Middle Township.  There were 39 new cases reported on Friday.

OCEAN CITY PROPOSES MUNICIPAL TAX INCREASE OF 2.2 CENTS

The municipal tax rate in Ocean City is scheduled to increase by over two cents this year.  Mayor Jay Gillian presented this year’s spending plan during a Council meeting on Thursday.  The new budget does not include some Covid-relief funding that the city anticipates receiving.

NEW JERSEY REPORTS 40 ADDITIONAL CASES OF CORONAVIRUS

New Jersey reports 40 new cases of coronavirus on Friday.  State officials say there were 3,544 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.  Nearly one out of every nine residents of New Jersey are now fully vaccinated.

If you haven’t already, you will soon see gasoline at $3.00 per gallon in Cape May County.  Mid Atlantic AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of gas is now $2.95.  Prices around New Jersey have increased by four cents per gallon in the past week.
