Former Atlantic City mayor Frank Gilliam will spend 30 days in prison for stealing money from a youth sports program. Gilliam previously admitted to the offense. He will also have to serve three years’ probation and perform community service.
Cape May County reported 48 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday. The past seven days have resulted in a 25 percent decrease in the number of cases of the virus locally. The rate of transmission in the county is also below one percent, a key threshold.
New Jersey reported 82 new deaths from coronavirus on Thursday. State officials say there were nearly 4,000 new cases of the virus reported over the past 24 hours. Governor Murphy says the state is beginning to see the light, but there is more work to do.
