Cape May County is reporting 48 new cases of coronavirus Monday. There are over 4,500 cases that are now off quarantine. Only Lower and Middle townships have over 100 active resident cases.
Wildwood Police conducted a motor vehicle stop early Sunday morning and arrested two local men after 200 bags of heroin were found in their vehicle. Police announced charges were filed against 30 year old Daniel Thomas of Rio Grande, and 40 year old David Fessler of Cape May.
The New Jersey National Guard has arrived in Washington, DC in advance of Wednesday’s inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. New Jersey added 3,511 new coronavirus cases on Monday. State officials say there are also 23 new deaths to report. The state is closing in on 600,000 positive cases of Covid-19 during the pandemic.
The Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company responded to a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames Saturday afternoon. The fire department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire southbound at Exit 17 of the Parkway. The vehicle was off on the shoulder of the road; there were no injuries.
