The Lower Township Council meets Monday meeting and may appoint a new Chief of Police following a closed session. A resolution appears on the public agenda that would appoint a new Chief as of January 1st, 2021. Current Chief William Mastriana is expected to retire at the end of the month.
A 64 year old man from Cape May is the latest fatality from coronavirus in Cape May County. County officials reported 34 new cases of the virus on Saturday. The Cape now has over 3,100 Covid cases off quarantine.
