It is possible that the Christopher Fox era in West Wildwood has ended. Vote totals posted by the County Tuesday night put Fox more than 30 votes out of the running for one of three seats on the Borough Commission. Joseph Segrest, Matthew Ksiazek, and John Banning were the top vote getters. Of course some…
Election results released Tuesday night by the County appear to show a re-election for Committeeman Curtis Corson Jr. Corson earned about 1,000 more votes then democrat John Amenhauser. Some provisional and mail in votes still need to be counted, but Corson earned nearly 60 percent of the vote
It appears that republicans will retain control of the Lower Township government. Mayor Frank Sippel, and councilmen Dave Perry and Kevin Coombs were all elected Tuesday night. Like in every race, the county still has some votes to count up but the GOP in Lower Township has won races by a two to one margin.
It looks like republican Tim Donohue will return to the Middle Township Committee. Donohue defeated democrat Bob Jackson by nearly a two to one margin during balloting Tuesday night. With every race, the County still has to count some mail in ballots received on election day and provisionals.
Dennis Township probably stays in control of the republicans. Vote totals Tuesday night give Scott Turner and Thomas Van Artsdalen victories over two democratic candidates. Vote totals will not be final until mail in ballots and provisionals are counted.
It looks like Cape May is getting a new mayor. Zackary Mullock earned 61 percent of the vote, apparently defeating incumbent Chuck Lear in Tuesday night’s election. Chris Bezaire won a Council seat during his first bid for elected office.
Republicans hold two seats on the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Will Morey and Jeffrey Pierson easily defeated two democratic candidates, and an independent on election night. Both republicans had a nearly 10,000 vote lead without a portion of mail in ballots received on election day counted.
Senator Cory Booker will serve a second term in the United States Senate for New Jersey. The race for Senate was called just moments after polls closed on Tuesday night. Booker and presidential candidate Joe Biden carried New Jersey for the democratic party.
One thing is certain tonight: Two countywide positions will be retained by republicans simply because no democrats opposed them. Republicans will hold on to the Sheriff position with Robert Nolan, and the Clerk position with Rita Marie Fulginiti. Democrats failed to run opponents in either election. Uncontested winners on Tuesday night include North Wildwood Councilman…
Cape May County health officials are reporting the death of a 69 year old man from Upper Township from coronavirus. 22 new cases were reported in the County Tuesday with Lower Township now having nearly one quarter of all of the County cases. Six new cases were reported in Middle Township, five new cases in…
