The company that owns the Cumberland Mall has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. PREIT announced Monday that it has filed for protection for its three malls, which also include the Moorestown Mall and the Cherry Hill Mall. Lenders have agreed to another $150 million in financing.

Bridgeton Police announced Monday they are searching for the individuals responsible for firing a dozen bullets into a home on Buckshutem Road early Saturday morning. New Jersey reported nearly 1,400 new cases of coronavirus Monday. State officials confirm three additional deaths, although there were 20 suspects deaths in New Jersey hospitals Sunday alone from the virus. There are 1,109 people in the hospital with Covid-19.
Over 3.5 million people have already voted in the Garden State. Governor Phil Murphy revealed those figures on Monday. That number is about 90 percent of the entire number of people who voted in the presidential election four years ago.
Congressional candidate Amy Kennedy is self-quarantining after being in close proximity to someone with coronavirus. Philly.com reports that Kennedy was in close proximity to someone with the virus during an outdoor event Saturday; both were wearing face masks. The Galloway Township branch of the county’s library system will reopen on Wednesday with curbside pickup. The library has been closed for the past couple of weeks because of an individual was inside the library who tested positive for Covid-19. The facility has been deep cleaned and sanitized.
A 28 year old Middle Township man has been arrested and charged for allegedly having sex with a minor. The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced Monday the charges against Christopher Eggermont of Middle Township. Prosecutors say an investigation was conducted relating to the sexual assault of a juvenile victim. The investigation is ongoing.
Fewer than 1,000 customers of Atlantic City Electric have lost power Monday afternoon due to strong winds. As of lunchtime Monday, there were 831 customers of the utility without power, and only a handful in Cape May County. Other electric utilities in New Jersey are reporting more significant outages.
The Borough of Wildwood Crest is holding a food drive in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Crest officials say the food will be donated to the Lazarus House Food Pantry in Wildwood. Non perishable food items are being accepted at the Crest Pier and should be dropped off in advance of November 23.
