New Jersey is reporting five new deaths from coronavirus Friday. There are 823 new cases of the virus, which is slightly lower than the totals reported in recent days. There are nearly 100 new cases in both Essex and Huston counties.
The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders has approved a new assistance program for those who have been financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The Board approved two resolutions earlier this week that provides $1.5 million through two separate programs. A small business funding program is based on resiliency.
A state appeals court has ruled that yes, prior discipline given to New Jersey police officers can be released. Police unions have balked at the move, saying it undermines the confidence in police. This ruling appears to be headed to the New Jersey Supreme Court.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy make announce soon that indoor dining capacity may be increased. Murphy updated the state on the Covid-19 situation Thursday and despite the number of daily cases going up, indoor dining capacity may be increased in the near future. Currently, it stands at 25 percent.
