New Jersey now has lost 108 lives during the coronavirus outbreak. Governor Phil Murphy announced that the total number of cases in the Garden State has hit 8,825. Murphy says the increase in numbers is expected.
There are now 14 coronavirus cases confirmed in Atlantic County. Health officials Friday morning confirmed three additional cases; two are in their 20s and recovering at home, while the third is in his late 50s, and recovering at a hospital.
Gasoline prices continue to slide down in Cape May County. Mid Atlantic AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $2.25 in our county. We are three cents above the state average, and a full 25 cents above the national average.
Sea Isle City has closed its beaches and promenade. Mayor Len Desiderio announced that the city was closing both to continue social distancing. Ocean City has also closed its beaches and boardwalk in Cape May County.
