There are new rules in effect for striper fishing in New Jersey. The New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council approved new regulations for stripers. You can keep one fish between 28 and 38 inches long. The bonus permit program also remains in effect.
A 21 year veteran of the Atlantic City Police force was charged with drunk driving following an accident in Ventnor Sunday morning. NJ.com reports that Sgt. Michael Camp had a blood alcohol level of .13 one hour after his arrest. His vehicle rear ended another vehicle; there were no injuries.
Northerly portions of Bay Avenue will be closed starting Tuesday in Ocean City for a Cape May County MUA wastewater main project. The street will be closed from 18th Street to 14th Street, and from 8th Street to 9th Street. A large portion of Bay Avenue south of 18th Street has been reopened.
Gasoline prices continue their downward trend in Cape May County. A new gas price survey by Mid Atlantic AAA puts the price for gasoline at $2.45 per gallon, three cents a gallon lower than it was one week ago. We are three points below the state average, but two pennies higher than the national average.
The new Sea Isle City municipal budget is not expected to include a tax increase this year. Mayor Len Desiderio announced that there is also no proposed increase to water and sewer rates this year. He also says a new pickle ball court will be coming to a tennis court at Dealy Field.
A big fire Thursday night destroyed an auto body shop in Cumberland County. NBC10 reports the fire started at Hyman Automotive in Fairfield Township and resulted in the roof caving in on the building. No injuries have yet to be reported.
