MIDDLE TOWNSHIP POLICE SAY RACIST REMARK PAINTED ON POLE

Middle Township Police say someone spray painted a racial slur on a utility pole in a desolate area of Middle Township.  Police say the graffiti was found on Friday, and reported by a resident.  Police are seeking the public’s help with identifying the individual responsible for the crime.

LOWER TOWNSHIP POLICE SEARCH FOR MISSING ELDERLY MAN

Lower Township Police have alerted the community to a 91 year old individual who has been reported missing.  Police say Ioannis Gioulis is a white male who stands 5’7″ tall and weighs 161 pounds.  Gioulis was last seen at the Jersey Shore Motel in the Villas Friday afternoon.  He may be driving his blue Chevrolet…

CAPE MAY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER STANDARDS FOR SOLAR ENERGY, CHARGING STATIONS

The Cape May City Council meets Tuesday and will consider ordinances that would establish standards for both electric vehicle charging stations, and roof mounted solar energy systems.  Council is expected to continue the long discussion of a bond ordinance for a public safety building.  Council will meet Tuesday at 4:00pm.

NORTH WILDWOOD TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS TO COUNCIL COMMITTEES

The North Wildwood City Council meets Tuesday afternoon and is expected to make various appointments to Council committees for 2020.  Council is also expected to consider a resolution for the introduction of the boardwalk special improvement district budget, and authorize a bid for renovations to the 4th Avenue Public Safety Building.

STONE HARBOR COUNCIL TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL TAX INCREASE

OCEAN CITY TO CREATE MORE PARKING ON WEST AVENUE

Ocean City will create more parking on West Avenue.  City officials announced that there will be angled parking on the bay side of West Avenue between North Street and First Street.  The parking is being added courtesy of requests from the community.

QUACK: DUCK DONUTS TO OPEN LOCATION IN SEA ISLE CITY

Duck Donuts is opening a second location in Cape May County.  The made to order donut store will open this summer in Sea Isle City, joining its current location on Dune Drive in Avalon.  NJ Advance Media reports that the shop will be located on 42nd Street.

SPORTS: MIDDLE BOYS TRIP UP LOWER CAPE MAY, 48-45

The Middle Township boys basketball team picked up a key win on the road Friday night.  Jeremiah Camacho hit a three pointer with under three seconds left to give Middle a 48-45 win over the cross county rivals.  T.J. Harris scored 17 points for the Panthers.

PAT PIRO, OWNER OF PIRO’S RESTAURANT, 82

A viewing will be held Monday for 82 year old Pasquale “Pat” Piro of Wildwood Crest.  Piro passed away Wednesday at Cape Regional Medical Center.  Piro was well known for being the owner of Piro’s Village Restaurant in North Wildwood.  A viewing will be held a the Ingersoll Greenwood Funeral Home.
