Funeral services were held Friday morning in Lower Township for Police Captain Martin Biersbach who passed away last Sunday. Hundreds turned out for the memorial service. Many police departments throughout the state came to pay their respects to the family.
Some very big name acts are promised during Wildwood’s Barefoot Country Music Fest to be held the third week of June. The first tickets for the show will be announced on January 10th; the actual lineup for entertainment will be held three days prior at Wildwood City Hall.
Stone Harbor has completed the move of its communication services to County dispatch. Stone Harbor is the latest community to join the service, which is located in Lower Township. Stone Harbor had an agreement with Avalon; Avalon may transition over to County dispatch in the new year.
Middle Township officials say a new modular post office will be delivered to Whitesboro next month. The opening could occur in February, weather permitting. Once the project is completed, the United States Postal Service will provide more information to Township officials.

Wildwood Police have announced the arrest of 38 year old Leonardo Perez of New York on burglary charges. Perez is accused of burglarizing a commercial business along Pacific Avenue. The items that Perez allegedly stole were recovered.

A 40 year old Millville man will be spending several years in prison for making threats against then-Congressman Frank LoBiondo. Joseph Brodie threatened to kill LoBiondo and members of his staff. Brodie made several contacts with the congressional office.
