A bomb threat was called in to the beaches of Brigantine over the holiday weekend. City officials say the threat was called in Saturday morning to the Cove Beach, but no explosives were found. The beach was closed for several hours as a precaution and has since re-opened.
25 officials from the People’s Republic of China visited Cape May County during the July 4th holiday weekend. The visit was part of a mission to the United States to learn and exchange ideas on tourism marketing and promotion. The visit was hosted by the Cape May County Department of Tourism.

No injuries resulted from an apartment fire in Ventnor early Saturday morning. Fire crews were called to the scene of the blaze on Ventnor Avenue before 5am Saturday. A woman and her dog were able to get out of the building safely; no word on sparked the fire.
