An official groundbreaking event will occur next week at the Cape May County Airport for “Village Tech”, the first of three buildings planned as part of an economic development project. The $6.2 million building is currently 50 percent leased. County and officials from the Delaware River and Bay Authority will be in attendance.
South Jersey Democratic Party powerbroker George Norcross has called out his party’s governor, Phil Murphy, alleging Murphy is a liar and incompetent. Norcross made the comments while defending various tax incentives and work to bring business to Camden. Norcross also told reporters that Murphy thinks “he’s the King of England”.
Wildwood Crest is the latest town to join the Cape May County Joint Dispatch network. Crest officials say they transitioned over to the joint dispatch program on Monday. Officials say the main lobby of the police department will remain accessible 24 hours a day and speak with an officer.

The chairman of the Philadelphia Phillies has passed away at the age of 72 following a battle with cancer. The Phillies announced that David Montgomery passed away this morning. Montgomery was at the helm of the Phillies when the team moved to Citizens Bank Park.
A pedestrian was killed early this morning on the eastbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway. State Police say the unidentified person was struck and killed by a passing vehicle that left the scene of the accident in Winslow Township. Eastbound lanes have reopened following the accident.
A fire caused significant damage to a retail shop today at Historic Smithville. Through the Looking Glass suffered major damage to the second floor of the building courtesy of a fire this morning. The store is located next to a railroad station.
A single point of entry and exit arrives at the Superior Courthouse in Cape May Court House effective Monday. County officials say modern screening stations have been added to the open lobby area as a security precaution. The current entrance at the rear of the building will be used for both entry and exit.
A 59 year old woman from Vineland lost her life Tuesday night during a motor vehicle accident in the city. Police say Maria Acevedo was killed when her car went off the roadway and hit a utility pole. The accident occurred on South Main Road in Vineland.
