Both the Wildwood Catholic and Middle Township girls basketball teams advanced in their respective playoff rounds on Friday night. Middle Township went on the road to edge Sterling, 42-40 while Wildwood Catholic beat Gil St. Bernards, 59-49. Both teams advance in the South Jersey playoffs. Stone Harbor will be introducing its municipal budget on Tuesday afternoon. Council is also expected to enter into a Shared Services Agreement that will allow the Borough to use the warming center established at the neighboring Avalon Senior Center. Six suspects are expected to appear in court Monday to be arraigned in connection with the shooting death of a Millville youth football coach last year. The six defendants will be facing a combined 17 different counts. The man was shot at the Lakewood Middle School.
36 year old Faheem Harris of Atlantic City has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of another man in March, 2017. Harris was in court Friday and he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
A 36 year old Ventnor fireman has pleaded not guilty in connection with the sex sting that also caught up New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Joseph Daniels was among those charged in connection with the prostitution sweep. Daniels’ attorney expects his client to be exonerated.

Sean McMullen from the Anglesea Pub in North Wildwood will be named to the St. Patrick’s Ring of Honor during the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day parade this month. The Ring of Honor is to recognize individuals who have given exemplary service to the Irish community in the Philadelphia and Tri-State areas.
A 51 year old school teacher from Vineland has been indicted on 20 counts of sexually assaulting two students. Isaias Garza allegedly molested the boys while working at a school in Bridgeton. Authorities allege the assaults occurred at the school, at Garza’s home, and at the home of one of the two students.

Governor Murphy and legislators may have a huge problem on their hand. The Daily Journal reports that tax revenues in the State are about $5 billion behind projections, which could lead towards a massive cut in services or bigger taxes on the wealthy. The overall budget is $33.5 billion.
