The Miss America Organization is looking elsewhere to hold its pageant, and may leave Atlantic City again.  The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has seen its contract with the pageant organization expire, along with millions of dollars in funding.  It’s possible the pageant could remain, but other locations are being explored.

31 YEAR OLD MAN DIES IN VEHICLE FIRE ON BLACK HORSE PIKE

A 31 year old Williamstown man perished in a vehicle fire on the Black Horse Pike Friday evening.  Police say Louis Dougherty was killed when his car caught fire on the highway.  Police say the investigation into the car fire is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.

CLOSED WEDNESDAY: OCEAN CITY SKATEBOARD PARK

Ocean City will be closing its skateboard park on Wednesday.  The park is located at Fifth Street and Asbury Avenue and will be closed to allow crest to complete construction of a shade structure.  The Park is expected to re-open on Thursday.

COAST GUARD ASSISTS THREE ON SHIP THAT TOOK ON WATER NEAR CAPE MAY

The United States Coast Guard assisted three mariners after their ship began taking on water about 50 miles from Cape May on Monday.  The Captain Garland was taking on water and the Coast Guard responded with two dewatering pumps to assist.  The boat was taken to Cape May and moored safely on Tuesday.

DRBA INCREASES TOLLS CHARGED ON DELAWARE MEMORIAL BRIDGE

As of March 1st, it will cost you five dollars to cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge.  The Delaware River and Bay Authority approved a rate increase that will generate $34 million in additional revenue.  Commercial vehicles will be paying two dollars more per additional axle.  It’s the first fare hike since July, 2011.
