Morey’s Piers has delayed the closing of a 35-year old roller coaster by a week due to weather. The official closing of the Flitzer roller coaster will now be held on Sunday, September 30th on the Surfside Pier.
Atlantic City Police continue to investigate a shooting that occurred early Friday morning. Police say one man was shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident, which took place at Arctic and California avenues. So far, no suspects are in custody.
The State’s gasoline tax goes up by 4.3 cents one week from Monday. Governor Phil Murphy approved the latest gasoline tax that will help make up for falling consumption and add more revenue into the State’s Transportation Trust Fund, which fuels various road projects.
Some road work associated with a drainage project in Ocean City is expected to begin this week. City officials say road work will be conducted on Fifth, Second, and Fifth streets and on a portion of Simpson Avenue. Some storm drainage pipeline will be installed along Seventh Street.
Cape May County freeholders on Tuesday will consider a $6.2 million bond ordinance that will help finance a new Tech Village at the Cape May Airport in Lower Township. The redevelopment project at the Airport is expected to bring new business and new jobs to the facility.
