MANY OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO REPLACE MIDDLE THOROFARE BRIDGE

There are several options on the table to replace the Middle Thorofare Bridge that connects Lower Township to the Wildwood Crest/Cape May area.  Two separate public meetings were held Thursday to discuss replacement options, with price tags far exceeding $200 million.

Senate President Steve Sweeney says he has enough votes to get pot legal before the end of the year.  Sweeney says a formal vote on this measure could come in late September.  Sweeney says he has enough support in the Assembly and Senate to get the bill passed.

NORTH WILDWOOD POLICE SEEK BICYCLE THEFT SUSPECT

North Wildwood Police are searching for a man who’s been involved in bicycle thefts along the city’s boardwalk this summer.  Police have released a photograph of the suspect that was taken from a surveillance camera.  If you have any information regarding the suspect, you are asked to contact city police.

MEDICAL WASTE FOUND ON CENTRAL JERSEY BEACHES

Medical waste and needles have been found on two central New Jersey beaches this week.  Officials in Ocean Beach and Mantoloking found the debris on the beaches during the week.  Local health departments were contacted about the discovery.

PUBLIC MEETINGS BEHIND HELD TODAY FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Two public hearings are being held Thursday in Lower Township to discuss the potential replacement of the Middle Thorofare Bridge that connects the Township to the Cape May/Wildwoods area.  Meetings are being held at the Township municipal building at 2pm, and again at 6pm.  A new bridge is not in near-future plans.
