There’s still no budget deal in New Jersey as of Friday evening. Democrats and Governor Phil Murphy met throughout the day but Murphy rejected all compromise agreements. Senate President Steve Sweeney says “sometimes people don’t know when they win” and compared Murphy to Chris Christie, saying Christie “smiles more”.

The Stone Harbor Borough Council will meet Tuesday afternoon and will consider a new ordinance that would result in the elimination of some single use plastics in the community. If approved, the new ordinance would prohibit the distribution of single use plastic bags and other items as of January 1st.

President Trump will be spending the weekend at his Bedminster Golf Club in northern New Jersey. Trump and the First Lady are expected to arrive at an airport in Morristown today and for the first time this year spend the weekend at the resort.
So far only minor injuries are reported in connection with a crash involving a school bus on the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday. Reports say more than a dozen children were injured when the bus turned onto its side near Cherry Hill. No word on what caused the bus to flip.
Horse racing tracks throughout the Garden State will be forced to close immediately unless the State reaches a budget agreement. The race tracks have been warned by the State that they may have to close Sunday; casinos may continue to be open for another week, if a shutdown occurs.
Wildwood Crest will have a new Chief Financial Officer as of next week. The Crest Commission approved the hiring of Francine Springer, who held the similar position with the County of Cape May. Springer begins her new job on Monday.
